Frequently Asked Questions
General FAQs
I operate as an out-of-network provider, which signifies that I do not facilitate direct billing through insurance companies. However, many clients are eligible to receive partial reimbursement for services depending on the specific parameters of their healthcare plan. To assist with this process, I provide a comprehensive monthly "superbill", a detailed statement of services, which you may submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement.
My session fees are established to reflect the extensive clinical training, specialized preparation, and evidence-based care required to provide high-quality therapeutic services. Rates are structured according to the specific modality of the session, whether it be individual, couples, or group therapy. I maintain a policy of full transparency regarding costs prior to the commencement of our work, and I welcome any further questions regarding fees or the reimbursement process.
Instead of phone calls, I ask that you send me a message through the contact form on this website. This allows us to exchange information clearly and helps me determine if my specific approach and tools are the right match for what you are looking for in a therapist.
Our first meeting is a chance for me to learn about your history, your current situation, and what you hope to achieve. We will talk about what is working in your life and what you would like to change. It is also a time for you to see if you feel comfortable with my style and if you would like to continue working together.
We will decide on a schedule together based on your needs. Most people find that meeting once a week or once every two weeks helps them make steady progress while still fitting into their busy lives.
I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This is a proven method that focuses on helping you live a life guided by your values rather than your fears. I also use stories and metaphors, to make the work more relatable. Our sessions will be practical and focused on taking real steps toward the life you want.
Because that time is reserved specifically for you, I require at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment. If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice or miss the session entirely, you will be charged the full fee for that appointment.
Yes, I offer online therapy sessions for clients who are located in the state of Maryland. We use a secure, private video platform that follows all healthcare privacy laws (HIPAA) to make sure our conversations stay confidential.
